so my friend gave me his guild wars account

do i need to have nightfall or factions to play his character? he told me his character was a lvl 20 assassin and that he had both factions and nightfall installed. But i don%26#39;t have either factions or nightfall i only have prophecies. will i still be able to play his character?  btw, i dont know why he decided to give me his character lol. He told me his computer was to slow to run guild wars? so my friend gave me his guild wars account
If you already have GW installed, all you need to do is access his account and his chars will be there. so my friend gave me his guild wars account
Seeing that you only have Prophecies, when you log into his (yours now) account, you will download whats needed to run Factions and Nightfall.

Since his account has all the Nightfall and Factions characters the games will install by themselves.

And I wouldn%26#39;t be calling anyone stupid, especially when you%26#39;re misinformed and don%26#39;t know what your talking about.

[/QUOTE] Noooo.  If he has both of those games on the account it will download the files needed to play the game.  I know this for fact as the last time I reinstalled just GW, I saw my Nightfall character listed.  Just to see what would happen, as I didn%26#39;t actually reinstall Nightfall as well, I clicked on the character and it downloaded all of the nightfall files from the Arenanet server so I could play it. Pretty slick on PlayNC%26#39;s part.

ok thanks everyone i just tried logging in on his account and worked fine. Although it did seem to run slightly slower than prophecies but other than it worked fine

[/QUOTE]No he does NOT need Factions and Nightfall to access that char. All he has to do is sign in. How do I know this for sure? Simple, when I do a fresh install of Guild Wars, I only install Prophecies (I have all three games). Once I install Prophecies, I just sign into my account. Once I sign into my account, I start downloading everything else for Factions and Nightfall from Anet. So, once again to the TC. You DO NOT need Factions and Nightfall to access your friends account. Just login and see what I mean about how you start downloading everything you need. DO NOT let the people that don%26#39;t know what they are talking about mislead you. Don%26#39;t run out and buy Factions and Nightfall, it%26#39;s not needed.
