Sounds like a driver issue. You could try reinstalling the game (uninstall it first so you are not just installing over a possibly bugged install) or removing and reinstalling you video drivers.help!!!!! vampire bloodlines
umm ya i remember having wierd problems with that game too...its a good game btw very under-rated....but anyways try re-installing a fresh copy and then patch the game itself and also uninstall/reinstall video drivers to most recent.

Another thing Im not a very technical guy so could anybody please teach me to install new video drivers...
Sounds like a video problem to me, you might want to update your drivers. What video card do you have? ATI or Nvidia? Whichever you have, look up their website then look under the drivers, and select the appropriate one for your video card. It installs just like a game would for the most part.
I have an nvidia 7600 GS. So I just got to nvidia and look for thier drivers there?
It still wont work!!!!!! I already downloaded the drivers from nvidia (at least I think those were the right ones).Anybody else got any ideas?
Well, just out of curiousity, what patch are you using? Are you just using the official 1.2 patch or are you using the 3.5 Unofficial? If you are using the official just try using the others.
I tried installing 3.5 last nyt but I think I messed it up. I dont get how to install it
The game may be going into a resolution your monitor doesn%26#39;t support, which would make it go into stand-by.. See if there is a way to go into the .ini files or whatever, and change it to something you know you have.. I had this problem on some stupid machine in the hospital I work for, but I%26#39;ve never seen it besides that :p
it says the game can run on 1024x768 and thats what resolution my monitor has been using.wtf is wrong with this game?
The most obvious things are.. 1. Restart computer.. I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ve done that..2. Reinstall game3. update drivers for lots of stuff4. reseat connections in computer.. And tons of little things inbetween.. I suggest going to the vampire bloodlines forums themselves and seeing if anyone else has had this problem, or if they have a fix anyway..And also, try compatibility mode

(im not a technical guy)
I believe Vista, and i know XP has a compatibility mode.. Go to the shortcut you normally use, right click on it, click properties, and there%26#39;s a compatibility tab with a bunch of stuff in it.. You can play around with it and try different settings, but even if that does work, it still seems like somethings wrong with something, since nobody%26#39;s said it needs to be run in compatibility mode (for XP, for example)
