Okay, I%26#39;ve looked around but haven%26#39;t found the answer to my question. Or, I may have, depending on what everyone else says. In regards to the game GTR 2, I was wondering about the camera views when driving. Every screenshot that has been shown on GameSpot is always in-car. However, I prefer my racing games with Behind Car view (far). I%26#39;m assuming that because all of the screenshots are in-car, that there is no behind the car view is there? I%26#39;ve asked around, no one has known, so I%26#39;m bringing my question to the board, to see if anyone has played it and/or knows the answer. GTR 2. Is there only one camera view or can you choose multiple views? Thanks for your help.Has anyone played GTR 2?
GTR2 has 4 camera modes. Close chase, in car, hood, and front bumber. The Close chase should be what you want more or less, of course the in car is the most realistic and is just freaking amazing!Has anyone played GTR 2?
Here is what the chace view looks like -
Oh wow, that is nice. I wonder why they don%26#39;t have any screenshots like those on this website? Really a shame, the game still looks good. Thanks for the image. I%26#39;ve tried in-car view before on Gran Turismo and the only thing I like about it is that it sounds really good on stereo surround (you get to hear the engine wind up better). But, in-car I can%26#39;t tell where the car is, I prefer the outside view to ensure where it goes.

The point is to simulate the real experience as close as possible and if you were really driving that car on that track you would only see what you see from the in car view. Sure it%26#39;s harder, it%26#39;s supposed to be. But anyway that%26#39;s why they give you 4 different camera choices. It%26#39;s just that those of us that are true sim freaks want everything as real as possible and that means in car view.
Not entirely true. I like simulation, but a video game is a game and can NEVER portray the real deal of driving a car over a race track. Being in-car mildly does that. How so? Because you can%26#39;t feel the car relate every bump, grip threshold, lean, jounce, and weight transfer back to you like in real life. I%26#39;ve been doing this for a long time and will always stand by the fact that a sim-game is just a game, and if you really want to experience the real thing, you just need to get in your car and head to the track. An in-car view on a video game still cannot portray enough to make it worthwhile. To some people, in their minds, they believe they can race better. I%26#39;m not one of those people. Only in real life when my car is on the track is it worthwhile. Because then you can feel the car respond to every move you make. Games are 2D, real-life is 3D and is also just that: real-life. So you can actually feel the car%26#39;s limits. A game simply just cannot. Not knocking on the sim-freaks, if that%26#39;s their only way into the world of racing, that%26#39;s just fine. Me, if it%26#39;s a game, I prefer to see all around the car to know where every part of it is at on the track. I don%26#39;t have to worry about that in real life because I know the dimensions of my car, so there%26#39;s no need to be outside the car. Now, if video game manufactuers make a nice actual simulation machine like those found in business and government establishments, then I%26#39;m all up for an in-car view.
This is why you only see in car view shots on the GTR2 website. Their in car view is the best ever done. You have no idea how good it is until you try it. The way it shakes and jumps around. It even simulates the way your heard moves around over hills and terns. Plus it allows you to move your seat back and forth which effects the in car view. It is simply amazing. I think you need to play the game first before you go off on a 3 paragraph rant on how in car view in unrealistic. But that is the answer to your question, the reason you only see in car view shots on GTR2 webpages is because it is so amazing well done and realistic its just about the #1 bragging point of the whole game, and there are MANY bragging points about this game. You just have no idea how realistic this game is.
Here is a youtube video of in-car view in GTR2. As you can see it is un freaking believable! Notice how the video moves around with the environment just like your head would in the car. And of course when you see this for real on your monitor its is even way more impressive.http://youtube.com/watch?v=WgXun8qiJ10
I just went and did a lap and just the little things in in car view. When you slam on your breaks the view moves towards the front window just like your heard would. Its really is amazing!
just download the demo and see how you like it......
just download the demo and see how you like it......
Yeah just go to incar view and speed up and slam on your breaks over and over! That is such a trip! And the game runs so well! You can see my system in my sig, nothing special. But I can play this game in 1280x1024 with every single graphics / detail option set as high as they will go and still get 90 FPS measured with fraps! This game looks great, runs great, and plays better an more realistically than any other racing game ever made!
That is a nice video shot of the game. And, per my defense, it wasn%26#39;t a 3 paragraph rant but a 3 paragraph statement of how I feel. If it was a rant, there%26#39;d be a bit more yelling (CAPS) and excessive exclamation points at the end of nearly every sentence. I do like the detail, nothing I%26#39;ve seen on any other games, including GT4. At least that in-car view is much more detailed and they implement physics of body yaw, pitch, and roll nicely.Plus, I can only go on assumptions of what the video game offers because reviews don%26#39;t offer much and I%26#39;d hate to go and buy the game to be disappointed. And, downloading a demo is risky depending on the game because some developers like to limit what you can do in a demo.
I drive much better in racing games with in-car view
Again, not knocking on the ones who like to do in-car view, everyone is different. With GT4, I couldn%26#39;t do it for that long because I%26#39;d always off-shoot something or not drive effectively because of mis-gauging alot. However, it is obvious that GTR 2 has made it simpler to see a bit more of the car to place it with their in-car views, which I find very nicely done. Someone has done their homework.

Just limited to 1 car and 1 track of course. Try the demo FOR SURE!!!
