I am sick of Call of Duty 1 / 2. I need a new FPS.

I%26#39;ll just get right down to it. I%26#39;m broke, jobless, but I still manage to get a few bucks here and there. I need a new FPS, and Call of Duty 2 (which I play most of the time) isn%26#39;t cutting it. I play Call of Duty 1: United Offensive now and then too, but they really aren%26#39;t cutting it. Around when they first came out, I liked it, but it was still lacking. In a nutshell I guess, I don%26#39;t like Call of Duty 2 because of the fact it%26#39;s too easy to kill someone. There%26#39;s no challenge. If you%26#39;re running down the street and someone already has their sight on you, you have no chance of survival (I%26#39;m talking about people who have a little skill, at least). There%26#39;s no fun in a camper%26#39;s game. With United Offensive, I have more than a good chance of survival against a camper, but not in CoD 2. In Halo 2, I could easily take out a camper if he didn%26#39;t kill me in one hit with a sniper rifle (my Xbox died on me for no reason though so I can%26#39;t play that on XBL, and I%26#39;m not getting Windows Vista).  I%26#39;ve never played Half Life 1, but I have played a demo of Half Life 2. Dunno if my computer can totally handle Half Life 2 or not, but it probably could. Anyway, looks pretty fun, but I guess I%26#39;m just looking for a game where I can run-and-gun (I hate unreal tournament 2004 though...couldn%26#39;t get into it), but balance it out well too. Yeah, you can run-and-gun in CoD 2 also, but it%26#39;s just too easy to kill people in that game. The hitbox is very messed up and it%26#39;s just not very balanced in my opinion.Anyway, thanks! Half Life 2. I used to think no fps could top Half Life 1, but HL2 pretty much did itOther games worth a mention are: Quake 4, Doom 3, FEAR, Prey I am sick of Call of Duty 1 / 2. I need a new FPS.

I will generally only buy a first person shooter if it%26#39;s online (or has nice online modes).So is it any good online?

how bout counter strike
Counter Strike is way outdated for my tastes...I was thinking about starting it up a few months ago but I heard from multiple sources that it%26#39;s spammed with aim botters now.
Well, what kind of shooter do you like? Fast paced? More tactical? Realistic?
I like fast paced : / tactical is fun too. I guess, both.
I%26#39;d say Quake 4 or Doom 3 then, maybe UT. The new UT should be out sometime soon if I remember correctly.
Is the new UT going to be for the PC?
Try the free FEAR multiplayer game.  Frantic is the best way to explain it.
